Round 10 is done! Can you believe it?! Our 10th year of the Creative at Heart Conference has come and gone. When I sat down to write this recap, I found myself feeling a little more emotional than past years. I don’t know if it’s just because of the delay (thanks to the pandemic), smaller setting, or new challenges this year brought… but our 10th round was definitely one for the books. I’m grateful for this chance to look back at all of the special moments with you during this Creative at Heart Round 10 Recap!
First up, press play on our amazing Round 10 recap film shot by Tyler Herrinton of The Herrintons! We are INCREDIBLY grateful for all he poured into this film – it’s amazing to look back at our 4 days together!!!!!
For our third year in a row, the beautiful WinMock in North Carolina was our home for our experience. Walking in was emotional, for sure. It felt so good to be home. Thank you again to this beautiful venue for hosting us and our amazing speakers, panelists, and attendees! After the last year, I was so ready to be here with everyone and celebrating what makes us and our industry so unique!!
We always kick off the conference with a Welcome Party, followed by 3 full days of keynote sessions, panel groups & breakout sessions! The Welcome Party is SUCH a fun way to start the conference – it’s a laid-back, casual event for everyone to arrive & see (some) of the venue & also begin connecting with friends!
This year, we hosted the Welcome Party in the Granary – a beautiful old barn on WinMock property!
Unlike past years, I was without my right hand lady, Emily (and I missed her so much!!!). It was just Matt, me, and some amazing alumni volunteers who set up for our welcome party. With our signature pink and white details everywhere, we couldn’t wait for everyone to arrive! Our attendees were able to pick up their tags and shirts, and dive into the delicious cupcakes from Floured with Love (my sister in law owns Floured with Love so having her be a part of Round 10 was extra special!).
This year was the first year we offered a virtual ticket option – we’ve NEVER offered a virtual ticket and I’m not gonna lie … leading up to Round 10 the conference host in me was SO NERVOUS about the logistics & tech of hosting a virtual event!!!
I knew that I couldn’t do the virtual aspect alone so we hired our amazing videographer – Tyler Herrinton – to not only film our promo film (like he usually does), but to also coordinate the tech side of the virtual ticket! He knocked it out the park and I was SO GRATEFUL for his attention to detail & his knowledge of live streaming!!!!!
I’m also thankful to my biz bestie, Megan Martin, for heading up the virtual streaming so that our team of volunteers and I could focus on the in-person logistics. She sat with our virtual attendees on Zoom during our keynote sessions & I know she had so much fun chatting with them!!! We also had 2 amazing educators lead our virtual panel sessions – Stephanie Kase & Rebecca Rice! They lead a virtual panel every day of the conference & were SO intentional about serving our virtual fam!!!!
While I’m mentioned educators, let me just say: these educators BROUGHT IT this year! Every session was so on point and I know that all of our attendees were soaking it all in. It was amazing to watch everyone have those lightbulb moments, and truly connect with the content that was being taught!!! I took away SO many gold nuggets of wisdom from this group & have notes upon notes to implement in the coming year!!!
Round 10 will definitely always hold a special place in my heart. It was a year of growth, fear, and hope. It was one filled with lots of lessons in flexibility and so many beautiful reminders about why we do what we do. I cannot wait for you to see these incredible images from Alex & Sara Lucas of AL Weddings! I’m going to go dry my eyes while you enjoy this little look into Creative at Heart Round 10!
A special note to our in person & virtual attendees — thank you, thank you! From the bottom of my heart, I am so glad you were a part of Round 10! I can’t wait to see what happens next for you & your big biz dreams!! <3
